About

The Watson Letters started as a series of emails between myself and a friend, which amounted to little more than idle banter. These eventually became the basis of my Watson Letters Blog and were written in what I imagined to be the style of Arthur Conan Doyle (after several bottles of Newcastle Brown Ale). The original blog was part of a website (about Sherlock Holmes), but this proved too time-consuming and costly, so I decided to back-track a little and focus only on the blog.

The Watson Letters is set in a not-quite post-Victorian, steampunk parallel universe, where all sorts of real and imaginary literary characters can, and do, turn up to confound our hero Sherlock Holmes and his trusty assistant Doctor Watson. Oscar Wilde, Charles Dickens, Mary Shelley, Wilkie Collins and even Conan Doyle himself tread the metaphorical boards along with  Hannibal Lecter, Madame Arcati, Bill Sikes, the Hooded Claw and Richard Hannay.

My novels, stage plays and short stories are available in paperback and ebook on AmazonSmashwords, Barnes & Noble, iBooks and Kobo. Short stories have appeared in several print and online literary magazines, including: SN Review, Flash Fiction Magazine, Flash Flood, Word Bohemia, Every Day Fiction, The Grind, A3 Review, 1,000 Words, Inkapture, Scribble Magazine…

You’ll find information about my Watson Letters books and other publications on my website, where you’ll also get info about my writing activities.

N.B. The Watson Letters blog and The Watson Letters book series were created and written by me, Colin Garrow, and I hereby verify that I have retained all publication rights over the material.

Thanks for this, Vicki, but I’m afraid I’m pushed for time just now, so will have to give it a miss. 🙂

Ah ha! You should read my wicked short story, The Secret Life of Emily Elizabeth. She’s not your ordinary librarian. Right up yous and Watson’s alley.
